ASSIGMENTS FINAL REPORT PRESENTATION REFLECTIONS

Luke Gray is a fifth year Architectural Engineering student at The Pennsylvania State University. He will graduate in May 2011with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, focusing in construction management. He is a active member of Student Society of The Partnership for Achieving Construction Excellence (S:PACE).

            In past summers, Luke has held many positions including a surveyor, laborer, carpenter, mason, electrician assistant, hvac assistant, electrical engineer, architectural engineering lab assistant, and estimating engineer. Starting 12 years ago working with his dad in the field during his summers of school, his interest in the field of building grew. After his freshman year of college he expanded his knowledge in the field of transportation working for PennDOT as a surveyor. After his junior year of college he worked for MEP company Joseph R. Loring and Associates as an electrical engineer. After his fourth year of college he provided detailed quantity survey of Architectural features, Civil , and MEP trades for building at Skanska USA Building Inc. In addition at Skanska he conducted constructability reviews of drawings and specifications to ensure that all of the required information was provided. Recently, he lead a team of students to construct and analyze two types of Old Castle’s storefront systems at the Pennsylvania State University Building and Envelope Research Laboratory (BERL).

            Luke enjoys doing outdoor sports like snowboarding, rock climbing, volleyball, mountain boarding, and surfing. Although, work, sports, and school are very important his favorite thing to do is spend time with his family.
