AE 481/482W Reflections:

The AE Senior Capstone Thesis is an incredibly useful experience. Though at times it was very daunting to think of all that was required from us, breaking the work down into separate technical reports and milestones made the whole task bearable. It was great to finally design our own problems and search/solve for possible solutions to them. This experience is very valuable in teaching students how to think as engineers and knowing exactly which questions you must ask/answer to solve the problem at hand.

After all the years of sitting through class and learning, it was a nice change to see how each bit of information we learned could then be used to solve a real world example. It was especially interesting to see certain things that I felt I may never need again pop up into a problem that I did not expect. The use of the self-made milestones in the second semester was good practice to teach us to set our own deadlines and help each student manage the work according to their pace. After all the work and headaches, I do feel the AE Senior Thesis is extremely beneficial and necessary to prepare students for the working world.

CPEP Reflection:

The use of Dreamweaver to create a website for thesis was very helpful. At first it may have been a bit frustrating to familiarize ourselves with another program, but the use of a website for submissions and organization was very beneficial. It is great to be able to look back at this whole process and really have something like a website with all of our information/work posted on it to share with others. The best part is having a one-step source that shows all of our work throughout these past two semesters.
