Senior Thesis Reflection:

The AE Senior Thesis is a very valuable experience. I was beneficial to spend the first semester not only studying your building but looking at all aspects, field related and not, to determine the best approach to a system redesign. This process allowed me to not only reinforce but grow my knowledge of reading construction documents, both drawings and specifications, to determine the necessary information. I also learned how to effectively communicate with the other trades when determine various aspects of my building and project. The design knowledged learned in class and through experience helped me evaluate the system and determine an appropriate redesign for my second semester.

The second semester was very beneficial due to its design of independent study. It was great to have the chance to explore options that we wanted to opposed to certain projects in other classes. This gave me a chance to learn how to approach a design goal and see the interworking details of what needs to be considered in a design. The personal scheduling was great due to the ability to work at our own pace. It gave you the deadlines you may experience in the professional world but gave you the chance to experience how to manage time on a project that we'll see post-graduation.
