[Andrew Levy]

Lighting/Electrical.

Andrew Levy is a 5th year student at Penn State, studying Architectural Engineering with a focus in Lighting/Electrical Design. He will graduate in May of 2014 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and a Minor in Architectural Studies (earned through his studies abroad in Rome).

Having had 2 internships in the industry, Andrew has gained valuable knowledge and hands on experience in both the Lighting and Electrical fields. His most recent internship was with Fisher Marantz Stone, a lighting design firm in NYC. He worked on projects ranging from small residences to skyscrapers; building mockups, lighting design sketches, light power density and emergency light level calculations, among other things. The firm has hired Andrew as a full time employee after his graduation in May. Andrew's other internship was in the electrical department of BR+A, an M.E.P. consulting firm near Boston, MA. There he revised cad and revit drawings, edited panel board schedules, and worked with electrical consultants to meet project deadlines.

Outside of the classroom, Andrew is very involved with clubs and activities at Penn State. As a member of the Penn State chapter of the Illumination Engineering Society (IES), he goes on a trip every year to visit firms and rep agencies. He is also extremely involved with music performance, a hobby of his since elementary school. He particiaptes in the glee club, university choir, concert band, campus orchestra, and athletic pep bands whenever his class schedule allows. He is glad to have been a part of the Penn State Marching Blue Band (in the Mellophone section) for the past three years. In his spare time, Andrew likes to travel, write music, maintain and beautify his aquarium, and relax while watching TV with a few friends.
