Student Biography
John Vais is currently an Architectural Engineering student at The Pennsylvania State University, specializing in the Structural Option. In May 2014, he will graduate with a Bachelors and a Masters of Architectural Engineering. In April, 2013, John passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and upon graduation will be eligible for Engineer in Training status.
During the summer of 2013, John participated in a structural engineering internship with Cagley and Associates, a structural engineering firm whose focus is the design of new buildings for architectural clients. Here, he participated in all phases of structural design, working on multiple projects concurrently.
Outside of academics, John has sought to be involved in his communities. He served as a committee member and chairman of Engineering House’s Academic Committee for multiple years. John is a member of several student and professional organizations including the Student Society of Architectural Engineers and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. As an Eagle Scout, he also enjoys outdoor pursuits, as snowboarding, biking, and other sports are favorite hobbies.
