Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in‐progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Sami Boulos. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.

Reflection

AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

My overall senior thesis experience through the courses above was definitely a positive chapter in my PSU career. The courses both in the fall and spring could have been better, and the time needed to do a great job was more than I had initially anticipated. However going through the assignments allowed for me to learn a great deal of information about the project and get in touch with several different types of people involved in the construction industry. By gathering information, formulating a proposal, and presenting the conclusions in both a written report and through an oral presentation, I have gained invaluable experience that can be applied for the remainder of my future. The training experience of seeking out problems on projects and researching possible solutions is something construction managers must do on a daily basis, often without the luxury of a semester's worth of time.

The hardest part of the thesis experience was maintaining close contact with the industry members and project team in order to gather accurate information in a timely fashion. The level of coordination on my project prevented me from obtaining information rapidly, but when I did speak with the project team and other subcontractors, the conversations and their information provided a great deal for my thesis.

 CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

Through the AE curriculum, students are exposed to various softwares and technologies. However, this was my first attempt at creating, maintaining, and updating a website. The Dreamweaver program was rather helpful, as were the AE peers in our program. I only regret that time would have allowed me to do more to the website. But from this experience I gained the knowledge of website creation and maintenance, which will help me in future website endeavors.
