Todd Povell

Todd Povell is currently in his fifth year of study in the Architectural Engineering program, specializing in construction management. He will graduate in May 2008 with an Integrated Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering degree. In the fall of 2006, Todd successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. Over the past year, Todd has become particularly interested in building information modeling and its high-tech applications to the construction industry. He has not only immersed himself academically but has been highly involved in numerous activities as well. Todd is a firm believer that one must work hard both in and out of the classroom.

Over the past four plus years Todd has been active on campus in a variety of activities including Habitat for Humanity, Relay For Life, PSOC Whitewater (the kayking club), and Penn State Dance Marathon. Nearest to his heart is an organization known as Lion Ambassadors. The group is a university affiliate working with the Penn State Alumni Association to foster pride in past, present, and future members of the Penn State community. Beyond giving campus tours and assisting at university functions, Todd has assumed a leadership role within the organization, serving as a committee director in 2006. Leading a group of students in the planning and implementation of Penn State's 'S-Zone' was one of his most fulfilling collegiate experiences.

Being involved in numerous extracurricular activities has helped Todd develop strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time management skills, all of which have only helped him succeed academically and professionally.

This past summer, Todd interned at Davis Construction in the Washington, DC area where he was able to apply his knowledge learned in the classroom while gaining hands on experience both in the field and doing pre-construction activities in the office. Todd is excited to begin a fulfilling career beginning this upcoming summer.

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web‐based project and information center. It contains material produced for a year‐long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants.
