Technical Assignments

Technical Assignment #1

The 77 K Street project is a class A core and shell office base building project consisting of 11 above grade levels and 3 levels of below grade parking garage. The site is located at the intersection of 1st and K Streets in Washington, DC and includes approximately 350,000 gross square feet of above grade office space and an additional 100,000 square feet of below grade parking.

Technical Assignment #1 was created to help familarize the audience with the existing conditions and the general setup of the project. The report includes information about the client, local conditions, project delivery system, contractual arrangements, general contractor project staffing, building systems, project schedule, and project costs.

Technical Assignment #2

Technical Assignment #2 expands upon studies that were developed in Technical Assignment #1. The report consists of a detailed project schedule, a site logistics plan for the concrete phase of construction, an assemblies estimate for the roofing system, a detailed structural system estimate, and a general conditions estimate.  The attached document will help to analyze the key features of the 77 K Street project that affected the projects execution.

Technical Assignment #3

Technical assignment #3 was a means of exploring potential research and analysis topics for the spring semester.  This report contains a summary of the PACE Roundtable panel discussions, a research topic overview, a summary of potential analysis opportunities relating to the 77 K Street project, a description of the proposed analysis areas, and a weight matrix outlining analysis emphasis areas.
