Michael Gorman is a fifth year Architectural Engineering student with a focus in Construction Management.  He will be graduating in May of 2011 with a Bachelors of Architectural Engineering.  Michael is a LEED® Associated Professional and upon graduation will gain EIT status.

Over the past three summers, Mike has had three separate internship experiences. The first internship was for the civil engineering firm Jarmel Kizel Witczak, LLC. Here, Mike received an understanding of the design side of the Building Industry. The second experience was with the Ocean County New Jersey Department of Engineering. Working from the side of  an owner, especially as a public owner, brought light upon a whole different construction administration process. Most recently, last summer Mike worked for Jacobs Engineering as a Construction Management Intern on the Department of the Interior Modernization Project (the Cafeteria Modernization Phase is the subject of this capstone project).

Over the past five years, Mike has also been a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He has served as Secretary, Philanthropy Chairmen, and captain of the softball team. As Philanthropy Chairmen, Mike organized the first annual “Delt Rockband” philanthropy which raised $1000 for the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. In addition to his fraternity, Mike enjoys spending time surfing and relaxing on the beach.
