Brian A. Brunnet - Student Biography

Brian Brunnet is currently a 5th year student in the Architectural Engineering Program at The Pennsylvania State University. In May of 2012, Brian will receive a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree with a focus on structural engineering, and will also achieve EIT status upon graduation. Afterwards, Brian plans to find a rewarding job as an engineer, pursuing his interests in structural engineering and working towards earning licensure as a Professional Engineer.

In the past, Brian has worked with his father on separate construction jobs that range from placing concrete slabs to installing drywall and fireproofing. Last summer, Brian worked at Lowes Home Improvement as a Customer Sales Associate, where he provided assistance and information about items such as retaining wall block, patio stone, and outdoor fencing.

Brian's fascination with building design and construction came to him at an early age, where he loved building many tree-houses and forts. In high school, Brian enjoyed working with the design aspects of programs such as Revit and AutoCAD, where he designed a residential home and reproduced technical drawings for a poker table design. Brian then realized that structural engineering is his true passion.

As an active member of AISC, Brian keeps up with the industry, reading interesting articles and illustrations found on their site. Outside of academics, Brian enjoys many physical activities such as snowboarding, lifting, and playing basketball. Brian also prefers being outdoors, generally going hunting and fishing.
