Student Bio
Faye Poon is a 5th year student of Architectural Enginnerings at Penn State. Upon graduation in May 2012, she will recieve a Bachelor of ARchitectural Engineering degree, with a focus in Lighting & Electrical Design, and two minors in Architectural Studies and African Studies. During her time at Penn State she has beome very involved in student service proejcts and also has had two professional expereinces and two internaiotnal study expereince in Rome, Italy, and Nairobi, Kenya.
After her second year (summer 2011), Faye worked for BR+A Consulting Engineers in Boston, Massachusetts. She helped develop the company's computer modeling library to assist the company to fully integrate Building Information Modeling for all their projects. This summer she accepted an internship offer with McHenry & Associates, Inc in Cleveland, Ohio. She designed both lighting and branch electrical systems for variety of project types. Faye was also exposed to architectural lighting design through her study at Penn State.
Faye became involved with Calvary Elements since her second year where she served as a student leader, initializing and planning students events and various service projects in the State College area and San Juan, Dominican Republic. Faye also became involved with HESE in her fourth year where she helped designed rain harvesting system for rural Kenya. Additionally she is involved with Penn State IES student chapter.
Outside of class Faye enjoys dancing and multi-culture events.
