+ Hi! My name is Rob Currie and I grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania but have also spent summers in Chicago, Illinois and Strafford, New Hampshire. I am a 5th year senior studying Architectural Engineering Lighting and Electrical design at Penn State University. I am excited that this is my last year (despite how much fun I have had in college) and I am looking forward to graduation day in May 2014. I am a member of the PSU student chapter of the IES and also a student member of IALD. I won 1st place, in collaboration with two of my classmates, in the Design with Light competion sponsored by the Philadelphia IES and Light Fair. I practice conceptual design and hope to forge forward in the feild of energy efficient design.

Apart from school, I play and record music with my best friends here in state college. We have worked together to create a group that incubates new original music. We record other bands who lack the resources to record themselves. We also organize live concerts. The aspect of music I love the most is the enjoyment of putting on a fun show for the audience and getting them involved. I also enjoy biking, hiking, or doing anything else outdoors. I volunteered at Shaver's Creek Raptor Center in State College, PA. This summer I am working for The American Chestnut Association doing research to create a hybrid chestnut tree that is resistant to chestnut blight. Where ever I go, I hope to live close to great outdoor attractions.
