Reflections

Course Reflection

The AE senior thesis program allows students to gain detailed knowledge of the design process. Thesis helps to relate our course work to real world design. It was a very valuable experience that taught more intimate knowledge about design then may be taught in a classroom. The program helps to prepare students for the professional world.

In particular it taught me the assumptions that must be made early in the design process. The JW Marriott's complicated design neccesitated many assumptions. I learned a multitude about the design process, in particular about the design of lateral systems.

CPEP and Discussion Board Reflection

These tools were valuable to the entire thesis experience. Both helped encourage contact with design professionals and outside sources that would not be readily available otherwise.
