Kristen M Hlopick, LEED AP

Kristen Marie Hlopick was raised in Springboro, Pennsylvania, a small farming community just south of Lake Erie.  Kristen always had an interest in residential design and her Dad’s carpentry skills, but finding a major that fit her was a challenge during her senior year in high school.  After contemplating many majors from computer programming to graphic design, Kristen finally discovered her passions; architecture and science.  Currently enrolled in the Architectural Engineering Program at The Pennsylvania State University focusing in Construction Management, Kristen has found her niche.

Kristen has gone above and beyond the requirements for the AE program.  She was able to receive a minor in Architecture after studying abroad for a summer in Rome, Italy.  Upon graduation, she will also be receiving a residential certificate and obtain EIT status.  Recently, Kristen passed the LEED AP exam for New Construction and hopes to incorporate sustainable ideas into her thesis.

During her spare time, Kristen likes to ... what spare time?

For the last two summers, Kristen worked for Buch Construction, Inc.; a general contractor providing services to Washington DC and surrounding areas.  Upon graduating in May 2008, Buch Construction has hired her as a full time employee fulfilling the duties of a project engineer.
