Senior Thesis Reflection

After completing my thesis coursework, I realized how much I have learned over the past five years at Penn State. This year-long project seemed daunting at the beginning of the fall semester and now it is clear that we, as Architectural Engineering students, were adequately prepared for this task. I am more confident in my own abilities and proud of the project that developed from studying 40 Bond Street. Thesis helped me to reinforce design principles I learned throughout my time here, proved I am capable of formulating sound engineering judgements, allowed me to gain more experience with codes and references, and a better understanding of the amount of time and work that goes into designing a building and its systems.

CPEP Reflection

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) that we were required to create and update throughout fifth-year senior thesis was a useful tool. Because this was the first webpage I had created, at least to this scale, it was difficult to manage at the beginning. Over time it became much easier to develop a professional webpage that reflected my style as well as my project. A great advantage was that the use of this CPEP was not limited to my instructors who graded my posted assignments, but also made my progress and final papers accessible to my family, friends, peers and future colleagues. In my opinion it is a crucial part of thesis and I am grateful I had the opportunity to explore and better understand how webpage development works.
