The AE Senior Thesis Project was a very valuable year-long experience that provided the opportunity to apply knowledge obtained throughout the past five years from architectural engineering coursework and internship experiences. This expierience required time management and organizational skills because a significant amount of work was distributed over several months, and responsible creation of and adherance to a rigorous schedule was essential.

Although the discussion board is a highly useful feature for attaining reliable information from experienced professionals, I found that I did not use this tool as frequently as I thought that I might. In seeking assistance for this senior thesis, I found that I most frequently contacted members of the design team responsible for the original design of Sherrerd Hall.

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in‐progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Jamie Devenger. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
