Reflection

The AE senior thesis project is a year-long experience which causes students to confront tasks in an achedemic environment that reflect challenges professionals face in daily life.

The CPEP portion of the senior thesis curriculum is a tool that I believe is not utilized enough. The web-based content for thesis is an afterthought for many students. Students are required to submit a hard copy for all reports and then post the same identical report on-line. Students are expected to pay too much money to print hard copies of their reports and this could be eliminated with the substitution of the CPEP website. Utilizing the website as a tool to communicate with the advisors in stead of printing hard copies to submit, would create a much more sustainable option for students. It would also allow for advisors to check on students status much more easily then submitting "status reports" every several weeks. Advisors could provide instant feedback to students to improve ideas throughout thesis.
