Tom's Biography

Thomas Weaver is currently in his 5th year in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University.  In December 2010, he will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering degree with a focus on structural systems, as well as a Minor in Architectural Studies.  Tom passed the FE Exam in October of 2008, and will gain EIT status upon graduation.

During the past summer, Tom was the sole structural intern with Structural Integrity Inc. in Madison WI.  This internship provided him with valuable experience, not only in design, but more importantly in client relations and project management.  During the summer of 2008, Tom studied abroad in Rome as part of the rigorous Sede di Roma program, where he studied the architecture and urban space of Rome, architectural design, ancient Roman and medieval structural design, and Roman cartography.  In the short term, Tom looks forward to beginning work as a structural engineer for a consulting or AE firm to gain knowledge and practical experience in the structural engineering profession and to obtain his license as a Professional Engineer.

Outside of academies, Tom is very involved in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).  He spends many weekends during the spring, summer and fall months traveling the country competing in regional and national level auto races.  He also enjoys competitive skiing and sailing.
