Structural Depth

The goal of this proposal is to reduce the overall cost of the structural system. In order to acheve this goal it is proposed that the gravity risisting system for the tower be changed to a steel frame with hollow concrete plank is decrease building weight and decrease construction time.

Breadth Topic #1

The first breadth topic will be a cost and schedule evaluation compared to the existing structure. The investigation of the building weight which will in turn effect the foundation needs along with the changes in construction time will have an effect on the sturctural cost.

Breadth Topic #2

The second breadth topic will evaluate the acoustics of the new strauctural system. Acoustics are very sencitive criteria with in a hospital that will need to be investigated for the new structural system. A few cirtical area with high noise that share a common wall or floor slab will be focused on in this Breadth topic.
