Technical Reports

Technical Report I examines the existing structural systems of Nemours Children's Hospital as a part of The Nemours Foundation. The report includes descriptions of the structural systems, wind analysis, seismic analysis, and spot checks of typical structural members.

Note: A revised version of Technical Report I replaced the original version 12/09/11.

Technical Report II examines the existing floor system and three alternate floor systems and are as follows: two-way flat slab with drop panels, pre-cast hollow core planks on steel beams, steel deck with steel beams and girders, and one-way slab with continuous T-beams. The report includes feasibility compairsons of each system to determine which system is most beneficial for the design.

Technical Report III anaylizes the lateral system's response to the seismic and wind loads calculated in Technical Report I. The lateral system in Nemours Children's Hospital as a part of The Nemours Foundation consists of 39 shear walls of varying heights. This report checks drift, displacement, torsion, and overturning moment. Spot check of a typical shear wall verifies the ETABS model output.
