Final Report

Over the past academic school year, the GSA Headquarters Modernization was examined forpotential areas of improvement regarding cost, schedule, constructability, and design. After extensive review of the project, four issues were chosen to be analyzed for the Final Report. These issues include redesigning the New Addition façade, implementing spread footings as an alternate foundation system for the New Addition, utilizing 3D laser scanning technology during the preconstruction and construction phases, and using a web‐based energy reporting system during the operational phase for the maintenance of energy. It should be noted that these analyses were studied strictly for educational purposes and should not be viewed as criticisms of the project.
