Studies

Nicholas Walker Mattise is a Architectural Engineering Student, focusing on mechanical systems, in his 5th year at The Pennsylvania State University. Nicholas is also pursuing minors in Architectural Studies and Information, Sciences, and Technology (IST). Nicholas augmented his experience at Penn State with study abroad tours in Rome, Italy and China in the summers of 2011 and 2012. Both of these experiences provided him with a global view,international engineering and team experience.

Experience

Most recently Nicholas Mattise completed a summer internship at the EEB Hub at The Philadelphia Navy Yard. There he was a driving force in developing software for a suite of energy analysis tools used for energy focused retrofits. During the school years, Nicholas has been a research assistant to Dr. Jelena Srebric, performing web design and research into environmental chambers. Additionally Nicholas spent two summers working with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) inspecting roadways in north-eastern Pennsylvania.

Extracurricular

As a manof many facets, Nicholas enjoys stepping back from the desk and spending time relaxing. Outside of the classroom Nicholas likes to participate in IM sports (soccer and basketball), attend Penn State football games, go trail running, stay up to date with tech news, and teach himself programming.
