Alex Despotovich is currently in his fifth year in the Architectural Engineering program at The Pennsylvania State University.  In May of 2012, Alex will graduate with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus on construction management, and will receive Residential Construction Housing Certificate.  In addition to being 10-hour OSHA certified, Alex recently passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam which gives him the opportunity to gain Engineer-in-Training status upon graduation.

Mr. Despotovich spent his past two summers working in New York City with construction management firm, Hunter Roberts Construction Group.  During his first term at Hunter Roberts, Alex assisted his project managers on Fiterman Hall, a $210 million educational facility for the Borough of Manhattan Community College.  During his second term at Hunter Roberts, Alex assisted the project superintendents on Gouverneur Healthcare Services, a $207 million healthcare facility that is receiving a complete modernization through a complete renovation of the existing building, mechanical infrastructure upgrades, and an addition to the existing facility.  Exposure to both the project manager and superintendent aspect of a construction job has thoroughly prepared him for his future in the construction industry.

Outside of academics, Alex is the executive director of the design-build team for the Student Chapter of the Design-Build Institute of America.  Alex and his team placed first place in the 2010  and 2011 ASC Northeast Regional Design-Build competition in Morristown, NJ.  He is also an active member of the Student Chapter of the Partnership for Achieving Construction Excellence.  Additionally, Alex is an avid motorsports enthusiast and enjoys playing acoustic guitar.

In the summer of 2012, Mr. Despotovich will begin his full-time career as an Assistant Project Manager with Hunter Roberts Construction Group.
