Student Biography

Welcome to the biography portion of my website, and thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. I won’t bother going into all the typical things you probably already know about me such as my major, option and what school I attend. I was born in Nairobi Kenya but grew up in Lancaster Pennsylvania with my parents and three siblings. I have an older brother, and younger sister and a younger brother. My family has a long Penn State tradition in it, my father got both his BA and MA from PSU and he has been working for the University for about twenty years or so. My older brother also went to Penn State, my sister is currently a junior at Penn State and my younger brother will most likly complete the loop by studying at Penn State next fall. I enjoy a variety of things, but some of my favorites include playing soccer, running, and laughing. I value a good sense of humor above a lot of other things. When I selected Architectural Engineering as my major I mainly did so because I thought it was the hardest major in the college of engineering. Although that probally wasn't the best way to choose something so important it's worked out wonderfully and I couldn't imagine doing anything else. During the summer of 2006 I took advantage of a study abroad program offered by the AE department and headed to Rome for a summer session studying architecture. Rome was a great time and I have plenty of fond memories from that summer. After the program was over my brother flew to Rome to meet me and we traveled all around Western Europe visiting friends of ours and seeing the sites. This past summer I spent in the DC area (Falls Church VA) working as an intern with Echelon Engineering. I had a great time at Echelon and learned a lot of valuable tools during my time there (Keith, Tom, and Phil thanks for everything). Upon graduation I hope to find a job with a structural engineering firm who will help me develop and progress and will prepare me to sit for the PE or SE exams at the earliest possible date. I also hope to find a company with great coffee in the lunch room and one who will recognize my extraordinary gifts and abilities. If you haven’t noticed by now, I'm very humble, infact people tell me that my humility is one of my better qualities, but this worlds not conquered by the timid and I plan on doing a lot of conquering.
