User Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in‐progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Lee Ressler. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.

AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

The past few months of senior thesis has been a very valuable experience. It provided a simulation of what working in a professional design office is like into our education. During the course, we had to analyze a project, assess the problems and suggest alternatives. We had deadlines to meet, but it was up to us to plan according and complete the tasks on time. The amount of knowledge that was gained through the hands on use of the different building codes and design/analysis software far exceeds what could have been gained in a traditional classroom setting.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

The discussion board is just one example of how connected to the industry the AE program is. It provided all thesis students a window to a whole wealth of knowledge that otherwise would have been unreachable for many. It was great to be able to ask people who deal with the issues we ran into on a daily basis. Additionally they were able to provide detailed information about design questions for specific regions of the country and how things are best done in the specific location of our projects.
