Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Michael Wiegmann. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Technical Assignments

Technical Assignment 1

Technical Assignment 1 investigates the existing structural system of the building. It includes a description of the existing system, various load analyses, and spot checks of the lateral and gravity systems.

Technical Assignment 2

Technical Assignment 2 uses the information from Tech 1 and builds on it by exploring alternative floor systems for the building. Four alternative systems are designed, and a comparison of the system is made using cost and scheduling analysis, among other items.

Technical Assignment 3

Technical Assignment builds on the previous assignments by performing a detailed analysis of the building's lateral system. Computer modeling is accompanied by manual calculations to determine load distribution, torsional effects, and check strength, overturning moments, and story drifts.
