Non-Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor of Nuclear Engineering

The Ken and Mary Alice Lindquist Department of Nuclear Engineering in the College of Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park is seeking applicants for a five-year Fixed Term non-tenure track Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor position. The selected candidate will be expected to teach four to five nuclear engineering courses per year, particularly in the areas of plasma physics, thermal sciences including heat transfer and thermal hydraulics, fundamentals of reactor physics, reactor design. The candidate will also be expected to supervise students in specialized projects in capstone courses or other innovation projects for undergraduate students. In addition, the candidate will have experience with advanced characterization and instrumentation techniques and data acquisition tools. The candidate will also support online M.Eng. nuclear engineering students in respective courses taught. These courses will be taught in Spring, Summer and Fall. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering and at least 5 years experience conducting both teaching and research in relevant areas of nuclear engineering. We are seeking candidates with a strong record in nuclear engineering, thermal sciences and plasma science and engineering. Candidates can also envision participating in research proposals and projects with existing faculty and be expected to participate in selected service assignments in the program.
