Associate Research Professor - Engineering Science and Mechanics

The Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics (ESM) at The Pennsylvania State University seeks applicants at the rank of Associate Research Professor to work on the topic of optoelectronic modeling of graded-bandgap thin-film solar cells.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise on detailed optical and electronic models involving advanced computational methods requiring the use of rigorous coupled-wave analysis, hybrid discontinuous Galerkin methods, and differential evolution algorithms for multivariate optimization. Expert knowledge of Matlab is essential. The incumbent will have an earned doctorate in electrical engineering, engineering science, physics, or equivalent, and is expected to occupy the position on September 1, 2021.

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. by the hire date in an engineering science-related discipline, and a track record of research accomplishments. Nominations and applications will be screened immediately and considered until the position is filled.
