Researcher - Biomedical Engineering

The Hancock Lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering is seeking to hire a Researcher. The lab investigates motor proteins and the cytoskeleton, using microscopy, biochemical approaches, and computational modeling. For more information, visit our website https://sites.psu.edu/hancocklab/.

This position will play a key role in DNA plasmid generation and modification, and recombinant protein expression from bacteria and/or baculovirus. Other duties include general lab organization, ordering supplies, and maintaining plasmid and protein databases. Depending on experience and project directions, work may include microscopy and/or transient enzyme kinetics experiments. Candidates with experience in cloning, protein expression and purification, and/or general molecular biology and biochemistry are preferred.

The position requires a M.S. degree or its equivalent in the biological sciences, engineering or be an active candidate for a terminal degree in an academically related field. This is a limited term position funded for one year from the date of hire with a possibility of renewal depending on progress and the availability of funds.
