Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Research Professor.

Job Description:

• We invite applications for a Research Assistant Professor position to conduct research in neural signal processing and neural stimulation with a goal to improve hand functions of individuals with neurological conditions.

• The candidate will have the opportunity to interact with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and clinicians.

Qualifications Required:

• A PhD in mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering or closely related field by the start date

• Prior experience in signal processing and interaction with human participants

• A strong record of academic output in terms of publications or grant applications

• A strong written and oral communication capability

• Prior experience in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students
