Purpose:

AFCEA Undergraduate Scholarships
There are three general categories of scholarship assistance available for undergraduate students currently enrolled full time at four-year colleges or universities in the U.S. Please read the information listed below to determine eligibility based on individual qualifications and program. Please apply for one scholarship only.

U.S. military veterans or active-duty personnel only are eligible to apply as freshmen; all other applicants must be college sophomores or juniors at the time of application -- minimum second-year college students ONLY please.

Note: high school students are not eligible to apply.

SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH AFCEA CHAPTERS

Located around the world, many of AFCEA’s 146 chapters also provide scholarships, grants and tuition assistance for aspiring engineers, technicians, programmers, military personnel and government officials. Financial assistance is made available for students living or attending school within each chapter's local community.

Eligibility:

U.S. citizen
Currently enrolled and attending either a two-year or four-year accredited college or university in the United States
Uniformed Military Service
Enrolled part time or full time in an eligible degree program

Terms of Award:

Merit-based scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services, to honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel) of the Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan or Iraqi Freedom Operations (years 2004-present) who are currently enrolled and attending classes in an Undergraduate program part time or full time in an eligible STEM major degree program at an accredited four year college or university in the U.S (see eligibility section paragraph 4 for list of acceptable STEM majors).

At least two letters of recommendation will be required from field-of-study professors.


Instructions for electronic submission of the Recommendation letters will be provided to the endorsers as part of the on-line application process - please do not mail separately. Letters will be addressed to:

An official transcript reflecting all college-level study will also be required by the deadline date - electronic submission preferred.
