Purpose:

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship is a distinguished undergraduate scholarship initiative that provides up to $7500 a year for college sophomores and juniors in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering. This highly prestigious and competitive award is granted to up to 300 students nationwide.

Established by Congress in 1986 to honor former US Senator Goldwater, its goal is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified professionals in their respective fields. You could receive undergraduate studies funding of up to $7500 for up to two years.

Eligibility:

U.S citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident intending to become a citizen
Full-time sophomore or junior (1-2 years of study remaining after applying)
Intend to pursue a research career in a natural science, mathematics or engineering
3.0 GPA minimum
