Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship

Freshmen or sophomores or high school seniors

Purpose:

Lockheed Martin has established a scholarship program to provide opportunities to students studying engineering or computer science that demonstrate financial need and come from underrepresented or underserved communities. In 2022, up to 200 renewable scholarships of $10,000 each are offered for full-time study at an accredited U.S. institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility:

Applicants of the Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship Program must be:
U.S. Citizens.
Current high school seniors with a cumulative 2.5 or above GPA, or current college freshmen, sophomores, or juniors with a cumulative 2.5 or above GPA.
Planning to enroll or already enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S.
Majoring or planning to major in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.
Demonstrate financial need.
Be willing to consider a paid internship with Lockheed Martin following their freshman, sophomore or junior year of college, other circumstances notwithstanding (note: the internship is not required to receive a scholarship, and scholarship recipients are not guaranteed an internship).

Terms of Award:

200 scholarships of $10,000 per student -- renewable each year

Lockheed Martin internship opportunities will be available for students beginning their sophomore year of college, and mentorships will also be built into the program.
