Early Career Award

Established in 2020, the Early Career Award (formerly the 40 Under 40 award) recognizes engineering alumni who are leaders in their profession, community, and involvement with Penn State.Each year, multiple alumni in the early phase of their professional careers will be selected to receive the award. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Early Career Award, nominees must have received their Penn State degree in engineering in the last 18 years. 

Nomination

The College of Engineering accepts nominations from anyone within the Penn State community, including faculty, staff, and alumni. The nominator does not have to be associated with the College of Engineering. There is no limit to the number of entries each nominator can submit. Selection 

Awardees will be selected based on: 

  • Representation of Penn State’s core values: integrity, respect, responsibility, discovery, excellence, and community
  • Commitment to maintaining a lifelong relationship with the college
  • Success in professional experience and education, community service and involvement, and career and professional leadership

The selection committee includes but is not limited to, academic deans, department heads, faculty, members of the Penn State Engineering Alumni Society, and the development council.
