Dean's Community Message

Jan. 26, 2021

Dear College of Engineering Community,

I hope you had a great start to week two of the spring semester. As we approach the start of on-campus learning on Feb. 15, all students need to make a plan for the required testing. The percentage of engineering students who have completed or started pre-arrival testing is still below average for University Park. Let’s work together to change that! All students, even those who remained in the campus community over the remote period, are required to participate in COVID-19 testing and have a test result on file with the University within 72 hours before they are back on campus, move into on-campus housing, start on-campus activities, attend classes, or participate in any approved internships or clinical experiences.

It is our responsibility as a community to protect ourselves and those around us. Please continue to practice proper physical distancing, wash your hands, and wear a mask.

Teaching Tip #70 – Increasing interaction with students in office hours

Consider holding office hours at “alternative” times to best meet student needs (weekends, later, earlier for international students).

Be well!
