UConn Graduate Program Information Session—Clinical Engineering Internship

The BME Clinical Engineering Internship Program is a two-year program that offers an in-depth, rigorous, clinical engineering experience that matches the engineering expertise gained in the classroom. The primary objectives of this internship program are as follows:

  • Provide exposure to hospital organizations and administrative functions.
  • Provide hospital experience in clinical engineering; that is, provide an opportunity to apply engineering techniques to patient care and hospital-based activities.
  • Provide substantial experience working with hospital personnel, including administrators, nurses, technicians and medical staff.

The program is based on the UConn Campus in Storrs, CT, with students interning in hospitals from Boston, MA to Los Angeles, CA. Students are able to complete the academic requirements of the program on-line. Upon completion of the program, each student will have earned a Master of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering and gained valuable experience by completing a minimum of 1500 hours interning in a Clinical Engineering Department.
